Calgary Flames: John Tavares & Co. take on Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on Tuesday night

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is excited to see his teams battle it out for the Stanley Cup.

The game is on the horizon in the Pacific Division with the New York Islanders leading the way with four of the top five teams in points.

The Los Angeles Kings have been looking to climb up the standings for a while now.

They’re in a position to make a push to finish ahead of the Kings for the best record in the Western Conference, according to ESPN.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the league’s top teams, but they’re not the same team that they were a year ago.

They have yet to win a game.

The New York Rangers, meanwhile, have a chance to win the Stanley cup, but have a much different roster.

“It’s going to be a great test for us.

The best team in the league is going to play in front of our fans in front a huge crowd,” Toronto coach Mike Babcock said on Wednesday.

“It’s a great time to be alive.”

The Maple Leafs have a good chance to end their playoff drought and reach the conference finals, while the Rangers are the clear favorites to win it all.

The Maple Leaf’s roster is loaded with talent, but Babcock has said he won’t rest until the team is in the playoffs.

The Maple Leafs will also have to contend with the Boston Bruins, the Anaheim Ducks, Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Rangers will have to battle for a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division with a few teams that they’re trying to climb out of the basement of the division.

The Chicago Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes and Nashville Predators are all in the hunt.

“We have to play a little bit better and we have to do a little better, and I think that’s what we’re going to do,” Babcock told reporters Wednesday.

The Leafs have to keep pace with the Ducks and Bruins, while a win over the Sabres could give them the upper hand in the division race.

The New York Red Bulls have a shot at the Stanley crown with the return of star forward Jozy Altidore, but the Red Bulls are in a tough spot with the injuries to Bradley Wright-Phillips and Luis Robles.

The Anaheim Ducks have a very good chance at winning the East, but their biggest threat is their home crowd.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are also in a very favorable position, but it could be difficult to get them over the hump.

The Columbus Blue Wings have some help on the wings with rookie Taylor Hall and a talented trio of forwards.

The Red Wings will be in an even tougher spot if they lose Ryan Suter to injury.

The Boston Bruins will have the toughest test of the season against the New Jersey Devils.
